Crisis Management & Reputation Resilience

Navigating High-Stakes Situations in Gaming & Esports

Background

Protecting a brand’s reputation isn’t just about reacting—it’s about anticipating challenges, controlling narratives, and turning crises into moments of resilience. Over the years, I’ve managed some of the most complex crisis situations in gaming, esports, and gaming festivals, ensuring brands emerge stronger while maintaining trust with fans, media, and corporate partners.

When ESL FACEIT Group was acquired by Savvy Games Group (PIF), the news sparked intense scrutiny from media, fans, and industry leaders. I led the crisis communication strategy, shaping a narrative that reinforced EFG’s operational independence while ensuring executive messaging, pre-briefings, and interviews aligned with long-term reputation goals.

At DreamHack gaming festivals and major esports tournaments, real-time crisis response is critical. From managing media narratives during a gunman sighting at DreamHack to handling bomb threats at stadium events, I worked alongside internal teams and authorities to ensure messaging was controlled, factual, and focused on safety and brand integrity.

Gaming and esports communities are vocal, and backlash can spread fast. From controversial partnerships to employee misconduct cases, I developed crisis playbooks and rapid response frameworks that allowed companies to act swiftly and decisively, balancing legal considerations with public trust.

Crisis management isn’t just about damage control—it’s about preparing for what’s next. I’ve built crisis mitigation plans, trained executives for high-pressure situations, and created clear protocols to handle leaks, misinformation, and PR crises before they escalate.

In an industry where reputation is everything, I’ve helped gaming, esports, and festival brands navigate their toughest moments—minimizing risk, maintaining credibility, and reinforcing trust when it matters most.
